Every month publishers delight book lovers with a huge number of new literary works. Our monthly selections will help you not to miss interesting new books. This time we have compiled a list of books for May 2020. As always, the selection includes novels of different genres, so that everyone can find something interesting for themselves.

Peter Heg, “Imagining the Twentieth Century.”

One of the most anticipated books of May. The first novel by the famous Danish writer Peter Heg.

This is a novel about five generations of Danes. The events in the book begin in the 16th century. It is a novel about the fears and expectations of the 20th century. It is about the last century – progressive and cruel, sentimental and cynical.

Lucy Foley’s “The Hunting House.”

This new book by May will appeal to fans of Agatha Christie-style detectives. A company of nine arrives in the Scottish wilderness for a New Year’s Eve reunion. A beautiful place, old friends-what could possibly go wrong? One of the company is murdered, and then everything that has been piling up for years – old grudges, envy, betrayals – comes to the surface.

This airtight detective for those who love action-packed stories, psychology, and old mysteries.

Jeremy Camp’s “Believing in Love.”

An autobiographical book by musician Jeremy Camp. The author talks about the happiest and most tragic period of his life. Meeting a beautiful girl, love, marriage – it seemed that only happiness was ahead of them. But a year later, Jeremy buried the love of his life. Melissa died of cancer. A true story, similar to the novel Until I Meet You. The film adaptation of the same name was released this spring.

Neal Shusterman, Jerrod Shusterman “Thirsty.”

A drought in California makes the land impossible to live on. At first restrictions were imposed–no watering of lawns, no filling of swimming pools, showering must be restricted. But all these measures did not help, and soon the water stopped flowing from the taps.

Alyssa’s parents went to look for water, and the girl stayed home with her younger brother. Her parents didn’t return, and the teenage girl has to take care of not only herself, but also her little brother. They have little choice – find water or die.

Rebecca Roanhorse’s “Trail of Lightning.”

The future. Half the world is flooded. Humanity is struggling to survive. The action is set on an Indian reservation where monsters and ancient gods have returned. Maggie is a monster slayer. She becomes incredibly fast and bloodthirsty during combat. She is the apprentice of an immortal. Maggie loved her teacher, but he left the girl. This story has elements of sci-fi, fantasy, western, and love story.

Penelope Douglas “The Trick.”

Damon is a sophisticated, selfish manipulator. Women liked him, they lost their heads over him. But not Winter. But she was the one Damon wanted, and he didn’t choose the means to do it. He ended up in prison. Winter is dreading the moment when her stalker is free. And for good reason! A plan of revenge has already been devised, and as soon as Damon gets out of prison, he will set to work on it.

Karen White, “The Night the Lights Were Out.”

Marily recently left her husband and moved to a small town with her two children. She rented the place from Dushka, a 94-year-old old lady with a complicated personality. Marily quickly gets used to the new place, gets acquainted with the neighbors, makes friends. Everything seems to be fine, but suddenly unpleasant rumors about Marily begin to spread around town. The woman can not understand who and why makes them up and disseminates. Trying to figure it out makes her life look like a thriller.

Shelby Maherin “The Serpent and the Dove.”

A book in the romantic fiction genre. There is a love story, a medieval setting, magic, a witch hunt, humor, and cruelty. A young witch, Lou, escapes from her coven and finds shelter in the town of Caesarine. She is forced to hide from both witches and witch hunters. The encounter with both is deadly. Fate brings her together with Reed – he pursues the likes of her. But this time, love proved stronger than duty.
